Salem Rose Music Publishing has announced its publishing cooperation with DIABOLIC. The Tampa, Florida-based outfit has a long and credible standing within the death metal underground with their origins dating back to 1996 when drummer Aantar Coates formed the band. Since then, the group has released five albums under the DIABOLIC name with their latest, Excisions of Exorcisms, to be released April 20, 2010. "DIABOLIC is pleased to announce that we have forged a new alliance with Salem Rose Music!" exclaims guitarist Kelly McLauchlin. "From Marco's experience working at the top metal record labels, Metal Blade and Century Media, all the way back to his early days in the underground with Ill Literature and No Glam Fags magazines, shows his history and dedication through the years to the metal scene. We feel fortunate to be working with someone of his caliber who can take DIABOLIC to the next level." DIABOLIC have had their ups and downs in their decade-plus existence, most recently reforming in 2006 after three years divided where some members formed the band UNHOLY GHOST, but the band is back under its original moniker and possibly stronger than ever with their first proper full-length. These battle-hardened death metal warriors are true believers for the cause and there is no stopping their never-ending evil crusade for true death metal glory. "I'm excited to be handling DIABOLIC's publishing and helping to consult their career. I've been friends with the guys a long time dating back to knowing Aantar from his earlier bands (EXMORTIS, HORROR OF HORRORS) and Kelly with PESSIMIST, in addition to my relationship working with them on DIABOLIC and UNHOLY GHOST while I was at Century Media," explains Marco Barbieri. "Recently I ran into Kelly in Arizona at a WARBRINGER show and we struck up a conversation which planted the seeds for this new endeavor." "We worked with Marco previously, and he was instrumental in signing our (other) band UNHOLY GHOST to Century Media/Olympic Records, and we are proud to join the family of quality bands that Salem Rose represents," confirms McLauchlin. "We are looking forward to the release of DIABOLIC's new CD Excisions of Exorcisms upon the metal masses!! DIABOLIC's latest, once again featuring the production services of Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez (NILE, MORBID ANGEL, TERRORIZER) and the classic artwork of Joe Petagno (MOTORHEAD, KRISIUN, ANGELCORPSE), will be released by Deathgasm Records on April 20. The band will be supporting the album with several live dates including an appearance at the 20th Anniversary Michigan Deathfest July 17. Salem Rose Music began in 2007 as a management company handling the affairs of WARBRINGER, as well as establishing a Music Publishing division handling the administration of works for emerging artists including AVENGER OF BLOOD, HEXEN, DEVASTATOR, SEVENTH CALLING and REVENANCE. Since the company, a creative venture from industry vet Marco Barbieri to assist young bands in their ambitions, has begun managing additional artists, including ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and PATHOLOGY, as well as entertaining new avenues like promoting local shows, consulting and producing.
